Introducing the 2018 Judges

Spa Inc., in partnership with Leading Spas of Canada is pleased to announce the judging panel for the 2018 Canadian Spa & Wellness Awards. Together we have worked hard to compile the most qualified and accomplished group of spa specialists and enthusiasts to award the best that the Canadian spa industry has to offer.

Theresa Rogers
Theresa Rogers has been a magazine writer and editor for more than 20 years and at the helm of Spa Inc. magazine since 2007. She aims to provide spa owners and managers with all of the practical tools and inspiration they need to run their businesses in a growing global health and wellness market. This approach has made Spa Inc. the most respected spa industry publication in Canada.

Chris Ryall
Chris has an extensive background in media, the travel industry and has visited hundreds of spas the past 25 years in more than 80 countries on all continents except Antarctica. Chris has written for many print/online publications in Canada and internationally including the Toronto Star, Travel Life, Yahoo, Dreamscapes, TravelindustryToday.com, NUVO and Wings on travel and spa/wellness.

Wanda Love
Wanda jumped head-first into the world of spas back in 2000 and hasn’t looked back since. She began her career as the Marketing Director for Santé Spa in Calgary, Alberta, overseeing the expansion of Canada’s first medical spa. She also served as CEO of Leading Spa of Canada back in 2009. As a freelance writer, Wanda has regular spa trend columns in Homefront Magazine, and writes for several publications, including Examiner.com, Spas of America and more. She also works as marketing consultant for luxury lifestyle companies.

Vivienne O’Keeffe
Vivienne O’Keeffe, founder and principal of Spa Profits Consulting Inc., is recognized for expertise in wellness spa concepts, therapeutic programming, business development, product development/launches, risk management and mergers/acquisitions, facilitating a smooth transition for all stakeholders. Always ready to contribute towards the betterment of the industry, Vivienne has been an instrumental member of the Standards and Practices Committee for the Spa Industry Association of Canada since its inception in 1997.

Kathryn Gallagher
As a professor at Seneca, Kathryn brings experience both from the business operational and service/sales side of the spa industry, along with the technical, practical side of spa services delivery. She previously served as a resort spa manager, and as a spa consultant, and has organized and opened several spas, both domestic and international. Kathryn was also part of a team that planned and opened Canada’s first Aveda training Institute in Victoria, British Columbia.
